I believe by "hottest" they mean the most popular and even then they got it wrong. A) City of Angels - Iris by Goo Goo Dolls, that song was written SPECIFICALLY for that movie and was jipped from being on the billboard chart because "a single was never released". when it did it still made it in the top 10 (#9 even) which is beyond good. whats more impressive about Iris is its staying power. Not only was it a great song when it came out, but it STILL gets radio air time, as opposed to alanis' song which never gets air time... B) take my breath away was DEFINITELY the song everyone remembers from Top Gun, Danger Zone was good, but you can't hear take my breath away w/o thinking top gun. I have to agree with brent. 'hottest' could mean a few different things i guess- sexy songs, spicy dance songs, or just badass hip hop beat songs, etc...
